A man from the Howrah district in West Bengal encountered a shocking incident when a woman forced her husband to sell his kidney for a million rupees (11,552 dollars) under the pretext of financial need for the education of their daughter and her marriage, and then ran away with the money with another man.
'Hindustan Times' published a report stating that the husband agreed to the sale of the kidney at his wife's insistence, hoping that the money would ensure financial stability and help facilitate the organization of the marriage of their daughter in the future. After nearly a year of seeking a buyer, the unfortunate husband finally sold his kidney three months ago.
During that time, as the man tried to improve his family's welfare, his wife befriended an artist from another field via social media and after receiving the money, ran away with him. After the betrayal was discovered, the devastated husband filed a complaint with the police. All attempts at mediation did not lead to the woman being able to negotiate with her husband and daughter, so the husband and daughter returned to previous positions.
