Details of a gruesome crime surfaced in Indian media, where the victim was a woman in her thirties. The incident took place in Hyderabad, where a former soldier Guramurti, aged 45, killed his wife Butavinkata, aged 35, after 13 years of marriage due to ongoing conflicts between them over many years, as reported by the newspaper 'Russia Segodnya'.
Local media reported that after the woman's death, the man dismembered her body and prepared it in a soup pot over a span of three days, and then disposed of the remains in a local lake to eliminate evidence of the crime. It was reported that the victim, Butavinkata, was declared missing on January 18, when her mother, Subha, filed a police report.
According to the police inspector Merbit Nagaragu, Madhavi left home after a conflict with Guramurti on January 16, 2025. Media confirm that police arrested a suspect who confessed to the murder of the woman.
At the time of the disappearance, the man stated that their children were with their aunt during the incident. Police have yet to find the victim's remains in the lake, where, according to him, he discarded parts of the body, and they are working on collecting technical and scientific evidence to establish the facts of the case.
