A 103-year-old woman in the Indian state of Maharashtra returned from the dead as her family was preparing her funeral. The family quickly realized that the day also coincided with her birthday and decided to celebrate this exceptional occasion. According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred in an atmosphere saturated with grief, as the family had already begun the final preparations for the cremation, before the situation was completely turned around and it became clear that the grandmother was still alive. Thanks to a striking coincidence, the day coincided with her birthday, and the scene from an expected funeral turned into a family celebration of her hundredth birthday. Gangabai Sakari, a centenarian from the region, was believed to have passed away on Monday evening after her body movements stopped, prompting her family to inform relatives and begin final rites. By the next morning, she was prepared according to tradition: dressed in a new sari, her hands and feet were tied, and cotton was placed in her nostrils, as relatives began to arrive from distant areas to participate in the funeral ceremony. During the final preparations, a family member noticed a sudden movement in her toes, which raised doubts. When the cotton was removed from her nostrils, Gangabai took a deep breath, confirming to the family that the grandmother they thought they had lost was still alive. In an instant, the grief gave way to joy, the hearse was removed, the mourning tent was dismantled, and neighbors began to describe the elderly woman as a living miracle.
