Global Drydocks, part of DP World, and Cochin Shipyard Limited have signed a term sheet to evaluate and develop India's first ship repair complex at the International Maritime Repair Facility in Kochi, Kerala. The agreement was signed during 'India Maritime Week 2025' in Mumbai in the presence of India's Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and DP World's Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. The International Maritime Repair Facility features an advanced ship lift system and modern docking facilities capable of maintaining a wide range of vessels. The companies will collaborate to assess and explore potential cooperation models within the ship repair complex. This partnership will contribute to the future growth of India's maritime capabilities and enhance the country's position as an emerging hub for global maritime services.
