
On Thursday, the government of India announced that 13 people died and 43 were injured as a result of a gas explosion in a restaurant in the western part of Mumbai.
Local authorities reported that the incident occurred due to a gas leak in the restaurant, which is located on the first floor of the building. Workers were conducting work to replace kitchen equipment.
"We recovered 13 bodies from the debris, including two people who were injured in the aftermath of the fire that broke out following the explosion," said the official representative of the transport department of Mumbai.
According to him, among the injured, there are some serious cases, and they were taken to local hospitals.
