A woman in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has brought herself back to life thanks to a pothole in the road. The story involves Vinita Shukla, who was previously declared brain-dead. Her story is nothing short of a miracle. Earlier, at a hospital in Bareilly, the woman showed no brainstem reflexes, and her vital signs were deteriorating. Her family was forced to urgently cancel the funeral and transfer her to Neurocity Hospital in Bilbhat. There, the 50-year-old woman received intensive care, and after about two weeks, she was able to return home. However, during the journey home on National Highway 74 between Bareilly and Haridwar, the ambulance hit a large pothole, causing a violent jolt. According to Vinita's husband, Koldeep Kumar Shukla, who spoke to the 'Times of India', at that moment her breathing returned to normal instantly. He had previously asked his family to prepare for the funeral, as she had stopped breathing and had an irregular pulse. This violent jolt became Vinita's salvation. She woke up from the shock. She had been completely unconscious, with her Glasgow Coma Scale score dropping to 3 out of 15. After the incident at Neurocity Hospital, neurosurgeon Dr. Rakesh Singh reviewed all her medical data, diagnosis, and condition. Now, Vinita is talking to everyone, and according to her husband, she has 'overcome death'.
