Indian company Hindalco Industries has suspended the production of aluminum ingots due to a gas shortage. The decision is linked to supply disruptions from the Middle East. The company, owned by the Aditya Birla Group, has declared force majeure for all its customers. This measure is a consequence of the energy crisis in India, which has been exacerbated by the conflict between the US and Iran. The Indian government has reduced industrial gas supplies to ensure households have enough cooking gas. The production halt was announced on March 11.
